Hinterbärenbadstrasse Munich

Re-development of the common parts of the estate Hinterbärenbadstrasse/Krünerstraße, Munich
2001 - 2004

Client: GWG Gemeinnützige Wohnstätten- und Siedlungsgesellschaft mbH, Munich

The multi-storey buildings of GWG date back to the 60`s are situated in Sendling, south-west Munich, in proximity of the centre near the Partnachplatz. The flats are subsidized with public housing funding. The street-side estate buildings enclose an extensive green inner space with a large number of extremely valuable trees and generous lawns. The re-development took into particular consideration the protection of the old tree substance. It was the planner’s goal to integrate new, clearly defined uses of specific areas which, by their design and chosen materials, would create a positive atmosphere conducive to building a cohesive social structure.
